We’re not aware of our governors’ planned induction, retreat in Dubai - PDP

- There is a poster in circulation claiming that PDP governors and governor-elects are planning a retreat in Dubai

- The PDP publicity secretary, however, denied the knowledge of the retreat

- Recall that Atiku and other PDP chieftains also visited Dubai prior to the 2019 elections to fine-tune their strategy

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied knowledge of its governors’ induction and investment retreat which is allegedly slated for May 16-22 in Dubai.

Daily Trust reports that there is a poster circulating in the social media containing the portraits of all the serving governors and governors-elect on the platform of the PDP indicating that the retreat would have the theme; “Getting Ready for the Task.”

It also reportedly indicated indicated that the retreat would be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and precisely at The Retreat Palm, Dubai MGallery by Sofitel East Crescent, the Palm Jumeirah-Dubai.

Though the poster is has PDP colours of red, white and green as well as the party’s logo on it, the PDP national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said he was not aware of such planned retreat in Dubai.

“I’m not aware,” Ologbondiyan reportedly told Daily Trust in a text message.

Similarly, the Chief Press Secretaries (CPS) to two PDP governors who reportedly pleaded anonymity denied knowledge of the retreat in the UAE.

Recall that in the buildup to the 2019 presidential election, Senate president Bukola Saraki; presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar; and the national chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus led a host of other chieftains of the opposition party in a meeting in Dubai to fine-tune their campaign strategy.

The special strategy session in the Middle East city was meant to put finishing touches to some of the PDP’s plans aimed at defeating Buhari.
