BREAKING: LG executive in Abia kidnapped by gunmen

- A band of gunmen has kidnapped Comrade Wachukwu Okechukwu, the head of the Isiala Ngwa north chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE)

- So far, the police in the area have not released any report on the sad development

- It is unknown whether the kidnappers have asked for ransom for the release of Okechukwu

The head of the Isiala Ngwa north chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE), Comrade Wachukwu Okechukwu, has been reportedly abducted by a gang of unknown gunmen, The Nation reports.

It is yet not known whether the kidnappers have made request for any sort of ransom both in cash and kind.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the Balle community in Gudu local government area of Sokoto state was on Tuesday, May 7, greeted with terror when a gang of gunmen stormed it, killing its traditional ruler, Aliyu Ibrahim.

An eyewitness revealed to newsmen that the gang after burning down the police station and patrol vans in Balle, went ahead to Ibrahim's palace and shot him dead.

The eyewitness said: “The gunmen, upon arrival to the emir’s palace, found the compound gate was locked. They, however, jumped through the fence while others were stationed outside. After killing the district head, they rode their motorcycles and fled."
