30-year-old man arraigned for allegedly stealing girlfriend’s N296k in Abuja

- A 30-year-old man has been arraigned for allegedly stealing N296k from his girlfriend

- According to reports, the matter was reported by the girlfriend on August 30, 2018 at the Bwari Police Station

- The prosecutor revealed the defendant deceived his girlfriend into giving him her atm card and pin

While most loving relationships are supposed to consist of people who trust and respect each other, it appears some people go into relationships with an entirely different ideology in mind.

A 30-year-old man is currently facing jail time after he was arrested and arraigned before a Dutse Grade 1 Area Court for allegedly stealing N296k belonging to his girlfriend.

According to prosecutor Clement Eromosale, the man identified as Endurance Adams sometime in December 2017, approached the complainant and asked her to be his girlfriend.

After the lady had agreed to be his girlfriend, he deceived her and collected her Ecobank ATM card and pin number with the guise that someone was going to send money to him through her account number.

The prosecution said that the defendant dishonestly withdrew the complainant’s money, in the sum of N296k without her consent and converted the money to his personal use.

Eromosale said during the police investigation, the defendant confessed to the crime.He said the offences contravened Sections 312 and 287 of the Penal Code.

The Presiding Judge, Mr. Suleiman Mohammed, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum. He adjourned the case until May 8, for further hearing.
