- The presidency has compared Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria to other socio-cultural group in the country
- Presidential aide, Garba, denied that the federal government offered to pay a large sum of money to Miyetti Allah to appease them
Garba Shehu, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, says the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) is like the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Afenifere socio-cultural groups.
Shehu disclosed this on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Tuesday, May 7. According to him, the group isn’t linked to banditry activities.
“The Miyetti Allah group is like Ohanaeze Ndigbo or the Afenifere. It’s just a cultural group,” he said.
However, the presidential spokesman denied that the federal government offered to pay a large sum of money to MACBAN to appease them.
Recall that Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Central in the Senate warned the federal government against giving the country's resources to herdsmen under the umbrella body of Miyetti Allah.
