Liverpool fans are now trying to make Barcelona players uncomfortable ahead of their Champions League semifinal second leg clash on Tuesday night, May 7.

The Reds' faithfuls set off fireworks opposite the Hilton hotel in Liverpool city center on Monday night, May 6, at 4am in their efforts to put Barcelona stars in a confused state of minds.

Barcelona are staying at the four-star Hilton which sits directly opposite Albert Dock on the river Mersey.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said: ''We can confirm a report was received of fireworks being set off at Chavasse Park in Liverpool city center shortly after 4am today (Tuesday, May 7, 2019).

''It is against the law to carry or use adult fireworks if you are under 18, and illegal for people of any age to let off or throw a firework in a public place.

''Also, you must not set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except on Bonfire Night, New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year,'' Police said according to Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, Liverpool were beaten 3-0 in the first leg against Barcelona at the Nou Camp and they will face the Spanish champions without Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League giants Liverpool are now seriously worried on the fitness of star defender Virgil Van Dijk ahead of their Champions League semifinal second leg against Barcelona.

The 27-year-old Dutch football star missed Liverpool's last training session ahead of their big match against Barcelona in which they lost 3-0 in the first leg.
