In Nigeria and many African countries, sexual relationships between men and women are the only recognised form of intimacy. However, some people still engage in homosexuality even though it has been criminalised.
Interestingly, this seemingly immoral act is also found in religious organisations and even among their leaders.
In a report gathered by Legit.ng two Anglican priests have been expelled from the church in Abia state due to homosexual acts.
In a statement by the Anglican Communion, Diocese of Arochukwu/ Ohafia, it was revealed that one Rev. Chukuemeka Duru and Rev. Solomon Chukwuzubelu Okonkwo were dismissed from the church after it was confirmed that they indulged in homosexual activities.
The church further explained that they have been left with no option but to withdraw their letters of order, licences and certificates of ordination as well as dismiss them from the ministry.
They further warned members of the public who have dealings with them to tread carefully.

In other news, Legit.ng reported that homosexual Nigerian man, Jide Macaulay, is set to be ordained as an Anglican priest.
The theologian and gay rights activists took to his Instagram page to share the good news with his friends and followers.
Sharing a copy of the invitation on his Instagram page, he wrote: "It is a delight to share this news, I am to be ordained Anglican Priest in the Church of England in June 2019.
