The result saw Real Madrid return to winning ways in La Liga after the five-goal thriller at their home ground as Zinedine Zidane made four changes to Real Madrid Starting XI from the squad that suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Rayo Vallecano.
The quartet of Casemiro, Federico Valverde, Lucas Vazquez and Mariano Diaz replaced the likes Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos were missing from the line-up.

Zidane made changes to his squad with Isco and Marco Asensio replacing Valverde and Vazquez a both continue their quest to rediscover their form.

With 12 minutes to the end of the match, Villarreal missed a chance to reduce the deficit through Mario Gaspar as his free-header missed target from close range
On the dot of 90 minutes, Jaume Costa pulled one goal back for The Yellow Submarine, but it was not enough as Los Blancos held out to claim all points after the added time.
