Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele could miss his club’s Champions League return leg against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday, May 7, after picking up a hamstring injury.
The 21-year-old limped out of the pitch after just six minutes in Barcelona 2-0 defeat against Celta Vigo in the La Liga.
Speaking after the game, Barcelona's Carles Alena midfielder said: “The worst news is the injuries. It's a shame for Dembele.
“We hope that turns out to be nothing because he is going to be important for us at the end of the season.”
However, a statement Barcelona confirmed after the game that Dembele had a right hamstring injury and would need more tests to check the severity of the injury, Daily Mail reports.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a Maxi Gomes goal in 67 minutes and another from Iago Aspas in the 88th minute handed Celta Vigo a 2-0 victory against Barcelona.
The result meant newly crowned La Liga champions Barcelona suffered their third defeat of the season.
