Muhammed Mahmood, chairman of the Board of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), and his daughter have been released by their abductors.
An aide to Mahmood confirmed the development to Sahara Reporters on phone on Tuesday, April 30.
He said that his boss and daughter were released at about 1:30pm, and that they are in good condition. He claimed no ransom was paid for his release.
Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that Abubakar was kidnapped along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway.
The UBEC chairman was abducted on Monday, April 29, alongside his daughter at Kurmin Kare Village along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway.
Confirming the incident, the Kaduna state police spokesperson said a distress call was received through the divisional police officer of Katari at about 3:30pm.

The command said the DPO alerted the police that armed men in military uniform intercepted a Land Cruiser Jeep with Registration number 07E o4 FG and Toyota Sienna with Registration number SLJ 465 TN at Kurmin Kare village.
It was also gathered that the kidnappers were said to have opened fire on the vehicle and its occupants killing the UBEC chairman's driver on the spot.
