Renowned Hollywood movie director John Singleton has died after suffering a stroke.
The veteran filmmaker was admitted in a US hospital following the traumatic stroke and was placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Celebrities across the globe shared their messages of condolences on social media as they described Singleton as a hardworking, kind man.
According to BBC, the filmmaker died peacefully after he was taken off life support.
His family said the celebrated director was surrounded by his family at the time of his death on Monday, April 29.
"We are sad to relay that John Singleton has died. John passed away peacefully. We want to thank the amazing doctors at Cedars-Sinai Hospital for their expert care and kindness, and we again want to thank all of John's fans, friends and colleagues for all the love and support they showed him during this time," his family said.
The Academy Award-nominated director was famously known for his iconic movies Boyz N The Hood and Poetic Justice.
News of Singleton's illness first broke on April, 17 2019, but all his fans were hopeful he would pull through.
