- Jose Mourinho is linked with a surprise to scottish giants Celtic in the summer
- The 56-year-old Mourinho has been out of work since he was sacked from United in December
- Already, Mourinho has been linked with PSG and Bayern Munich
Jose Mourinho’s odds to become the next Celtic manager have been reduced after a surge in bets on Sunday, April 28, according to reports.
The UK Sun claims the ex-Manchester United manager was 66/1, but has now reduced to 14/1 at Paddy Power.
The 56-year-old Mourinho, who was sacked by United since December 2018, is now linked to a move to Celtic.
At the last count, Mourinho has already been linked with PSG and Bayern Munich as he continues the search for his next managerial job.
In addition, Lyon have also invited the Portuguese to be their new manager – suggesting he would surprisingly work alongside old rival Arsene Wenger, who is expected to be named Lyon’s general manager.
Paddy Power spokesperson said: "Jose Mourinho and Celtic may not seem like a natural partnership, but the Bhoys do have recent experience in coaches with humongous egos.
“And, actually, both parties have pretty strong links with Champions League success in Portugal.
“It could be viewed as an odd move for Mourinho but, having linked himself with the jobs at PSG and Bayern, Celtic would fit with apparent approach of targeting one-club leagues.”
Meanwhile, Martin O'Neill has also dropped in the odds-list starting at 80/1 and falling to 7/1 to make a return to Celtic Park.
Neil Lennon is still the leading favourite for the role as he continues as interim manager, he sits at 11/10 to take on the job in a permanent role.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Mourinho has reportedly rejected offers to manager Roma.
Mourinho has been out of coaching job since he was sacked at Manchester United in December 2018 after losing against Liverpool.
He was tipped to make a return to Real Madrid recently, but Los Blancos' chiefs ignored the Portuguese by hiring Frenchman Zinedine Zidane.
Also, the 56-year-old made it clear that he had rejected three offers thereby claiming he is returning to management as soon as possible.
