Amaechi, Akpabio resolve age-long dispute, close ranks to strengthen APC

- Two APC chieftains, Ameachi and Akpabio, have resolved their age-long political differences

- The two APC leaders from the south-south resolved their disputes in a meeting brokered by Alhaji Nasiru Danu and Festus Keyamo

- Both leaders agreed to close ranks and work in unison for the overall interest of the party in the country

Two All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains from the south-south region, Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and the former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Senator Godswill Akpabio have resolved their age-long political differences.

According to a statement made available to Legit.ng by Festus Keyamo, the director of strategic communications for APC Presidential Campaign Council, the meeting was at the instance of Senator Akpabio.

It was brokered by two chieftains of the party, Alhaji Nasiru Danu, (the Dan Amarna of Dutse) and Keyamo on Sunday, April 28.

Alhaji Danu was one of the directors of logistics of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and a long-time ally of President Muhammadu Buhari while Keyamo is also a chieftain of the party from the south-south region.

The meeting which took place at the private residence of Danu in the Asokoro region of Abuja lasted several hours where the leaders frankly talked about their various disagreements from their days as governors in PDP and in the then Nigerian Governors’ Forum.

They also discussed and analysed the performance of the party in the south-south region in the just-concluded election and identified areas where things went wrong and how to improve those areas in future.

Both leaders agreed to close ranks and work in unison for the overall interest of the party in the country.

They promised to put behind them all previous perceived misgivings between them and to give a positive direction to the teeming supporters of the party across the country.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the PDP said President Buhari-led presidency and the APC are desperate to remain in power at all costs so as to continue to exploit Nigerians and protect APC corrupt leader.

Going further, the PDP said APC wants to remain in power to prevent investigation into N14 trillion allegedly stolen under its watch.
