Manchester City striker Raheem Sterling has been named as the winner of the 2019 Football Writers' Association award for his impressive performances this season.
Raheem Sterling has played a vital role in the success of Pep Guardiola's reigning champions, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists this term.
Over 400 Football Writers voted in which Raheem Sterling got 62 percent of the poll thereby beating teammate Sergio Aguero and Liverpool defender Virgil Van Vijk.
Sterling was beaten to the PFA Player's Player of the Year award by Van Dijk, but did manage to win the PFA Young Player of the Year prize on Sunday night, April 28.
Already this season, Raheem Sterling has won the Carabao Cup with Manchester City after beating Chelsea in the final back in February.
He also has the chance to win the FA Cup title as Manchester City will face Watford in the final on May 18 at Wembley.
Manchester City will also be crowned champions of the 2018/19 Premier League title if they win their remaining two games.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Raheem Sterling of Manchester City was crowned the PFA Young player of the year after his impressive season with the Citizens in the Premier League.
The England international was also nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award, but he was beaten by Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk.
Sterling has been an integral part of Pep Guardiola's side as City aim to retain their Premier League crown with two games to end the 2018/19 season.
