Tottenham vs West Ham: Michail Antonio scores winner as Spurs lose in new stadium

West Ham forward Michail Antonio scored the first away goal in Tottenham's new stadium to hand the hammers all three points in a Premier League fixture played on Saturday, April 27.

Antonio's goal came in the 67th minute as he brought the ball down with his chest before unleashing a powerful shot to beat Hugo Lloris in goal for Tottenham.

The game produced end-to-end action but no goal in the first half. The first real chance of the game fell to Son who was denied by Fabianski at his near post.

It was then the turn of Eriksen to force a fine save off the goalkeeper as Fabianski raced out of his line to block the midfielder's shot.

At the end of the first half, it ended 0-0. But with 22 minutes played in the second half, Antonio gave West Ham a surprise lead off an assist from Arnautovic.

The West Ham forward almost got his brace some minutes later after he was played through on goal. He used his strength to hold off Davies before striking the ball, but this time Lloris was equal to it as he produced a fine stop.

West Ham were asking all the questions as Arnautovic tried to curl one towards the back post but Llrois again did well to deny him.

Tottenham in the dying moment of the game threw more players forward but they could not rescue a point as they suffered their first home defeat in their new stadium.

The results leaves Mauricio Pochettino's men still in third position on the log with 70 points.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester City star Raheem Sterling jokingly said that no one wants his former club Liverpool to win the league this season.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are two points ahead of the reigning champions Man City but have played one game more than the Citizens who have three games left to play.
