Manchester United legend Paul Scholes could make a surprise return to Old Trafford in the summer with reports circulating that the Red Devils are planning a huge restructuring ahead of next season.
According to a report on Metro, Scholes could be appointed into one of the new roles Man United intend to create to bring back the glory days of the club.
Presently, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the manager at the club and his assistant Mike Phelan is thought to be in line to be named technical director.
With that appointment, it is believed that there will be other roles created, and Scholes' name is in the mix for a position.
But it is currently unknown what job precisely Scholes will be given. However, report has it that his job will help provide the decision making process at a board level.
Paul Scholes played 718 times over 20 seasons under Sir Alex Ferguson at Man United.
By the time he retired in 2013, he had won 11 Premier League titles, three FA Cups and two Champions League titles.

The 44-year-old took charge of just seven matches since he joined them in February and recorded just one win in the process.
Scholes drew three and lost the remaining during his short reign at Boundary Park barely 31 days after being named manager of the league two club.
