Liverpool have equaled Manchester United best ever Premier League season in 1999-2000 after their impressive win over Huddersfield on Friday night, April 26.
In the 1999-2000 Premier League season, Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson set the record of 91 points as they claimed the second of three successive League titles.
The Red Devils' squad then were considered one of Ferguson's best a year after their memorable treble triumph.
Despite Manchester United's 13 Premier League titles, the Old Trafford landlords only twice surpassed the 90-point mark reaching 90 in 2008-09 having gone one better in 2000.
And with two games left for Liverpool to play this season in the Premier League, the Reds can still go clear of that 91-point mark.
Liverpool face Newcastle and Wolves in their final two Premier League games of the season as they go toe-to-toe with rivals Manchester City for the 2018/19 EPL title.
Jurgen Klopp's men are currently occupying first position on the standings with 91 points, while Manchester City occupy second with 89 points.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Liverpool vs Huddersfield ended in a 5-0 thumping of visitors as the Reds return to the summit of the Premier League.
Naby Keita scored Liverpool's fastest goal in Premier league's history as an error by the Huddersfield defence found left the Guinean little to do to fire his side 1-0 up after just 34 seconds.
