- A member of the Lagos House of Assembly, Yakubu Balogun, says APC leader, Bola Tinubu, is not a fascist
- Balogun expresses his appreciation to Tinubu who he describes as his political mentor and leader
A member of the Lagos House of Assembly, Yakubu Balogun, has faulted claims suggesting that APC leader, Bola Tinubu, is a fascist and power grabber.
The lawmaker who was reacting to claims by Yakubu Dogara that Tinubu wanted to control all levers of government, told journalists on Thursday, April 25, that the APC leader is a builder of men, Business Day reports.
“I will to express my sincere appreciation to my political mentor, my indefatigable, resourceful, visionary, compassionate, God anointed political leader-Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a fisher and builder of men (and women) from nothing to something, the helper and elevator of the downtrodden and above all, a non-fascist and non-power grabber,” Balogun said.
Meanwhile, the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, April 25, revealed why he was absent during President Muhammadu Buhari’s projects commissioning in Lagos on Wednesday, April 24.
The Independent reports that there were insinuations that Tinubu shunned the event as a payback for the president’s absence at the colloquium organised last month to mark his 67th birthday.
However, Tinubu’s special adviser on media, Tunde Rahman, said his principal missed the event because he is currently out of the country.
