Jose Mourinho is ready to challenge his former club, Manchester United, for the potential signing of the Red Devils' summer target, Philippe Coutinho, in the next transfer window.

Mourinho intends to make Barcelona want-away forward, Philippe Coutinho, his first target signing according to Don Balon.

Coutinho is no stranger at the San Siro, having played for Inter in his younger years before Liverpool landed him.

According to reports from the Independent and Telegraph, United are also targeting Everton's Richarlison and Jadon Sancho, who currently play in Germany with Borussia Dortmund.

Mourinho will be looking to pick up from where he left and it is possible this includes a number of potential United targets including some current squad members loyal to him in his former cubs.

The ex-United gaffer is notorious for his close relationships with his favourites and loves to bring in players he has worked with before — such as Nemanja Matic, Michael Essien and other big stars.

After departing Old Trafford in December 2018, Mourinho, heading back to Inter, is a strong possibility with the Portuguese basking in the fond memories of Champions League victory for the Italian club.

Meanwhile, previously reported that Spanish champions Barcelona were now reportedly confident of landing Manchester United star Marcus Rashford for £100 million when the ongoing season came to an end.

Rashford's current deal at Old Trafford would expire in the year 2020, but Barcelona wanted to take advantage of his refusal to sign a new deal by luring him to the Camp Nou. ( -> We have updated to serve you better
