A woman identified as Munira Abdulla has defiled logical reasoning after waking up from a 28-year-long coma after an accident in 1991.

Abdulla who was aged 32 at the time, was in the car with her 4-year-old son, Omar Webair, when the vehicle they were travelling in collided into a bus. Instinctively, Munira shielded her son with her body, protecting him from the dangerous impact of the accident.

According to him, the brain injury left his mother in an unconscious state for many years and he never gave up on her. In 2017, Mohammed bin Zayed, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, offered to pay for Ms Abdulla to receive specialist treatment in Germany.

Webair said the treatment appeared to make his mother more responsive, and a year later, in June 2018, a row in her hospital room “caused her a shock”.

“She was making strange sounds and I kept calling the doctors to examine her, they said everything was normal,” he added. “Then three days later I woke up to the sound of someone calling my name. It was her! She was calling my name, I was flying with joy; for years I have dreamt of this moment, and my name was the first word she said,” Webair explained

It was gathered that Abdulla is gradually resuming full body movement and human functionality. She is able to hold conversations and express pain when she feels it.
