Fans want David Silva banned for nasty tackle on Pereira during derby win

Fans wants David Silva disciplined after launching a dangerous tackle on Andreas Pereira during the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.

The midfielder caught Pereira on the ribs with a nasty high challenge as he attempted to win a header in the midfield.

However, the Spaniard escaped punishment from referee, Andre Marriner, despite the match official seemingly spotting the challenge.

Understandably, there were calls from fans online to have the Spaniard banned after the dangerous challenge.

"That is David silva season done he will surely get a ban from the fa," @JakeLogan25 submitted.

"David Silva retrospective action incoming," @tommolee123 reckoned.

It now remains to be seen if the FA will enforce a retrospective ban on the City playmaker with three matches left to end the season.

The Citizens are scheduled to travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley before hosting Leicester City at Etihad.

They will then crown their season with a crunch tie against relegation-threatened, Brighton.
