The Nigerian Senate has postponed its consideration of the 2019 budget to next week due to non-availability of details.
The Senate committee on appropriation headed by Senator Danjuma Goje, had on Thursday, April 18, laid the budget report on the floor of the Senate.
However, on Wednesday, April 24, when the budget consideration and passage was listed on the Senate Order Paper it was observed that there were no printed copies of the budget report.
Daily Trust reports that it was also observed that both Goje and his deputy Senator Sunny Ogbouji (APC, Ebonyi), were not on the floor.
Also, sources said the main reason for the postponement was the non-availability of the budget details.
Following the observation, Senate President Bukola Saraki consequently directed that copies of the budget report should be made available to senators before Monday so that the Senate would pass it next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has replied the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola TInubu, calling him a purveyor of falsehood.

Dogara said apart from manufacturing falsehood, Tinubu also painted a non-existing picture by accusing the Senate president, Bukola Saraki, and others of frustrating the government of President Muhammadu Buhari by padding budgets.
He also accused Tinubu of engaging in “brazen mendacity” and distorting facts and decorum in his bid to justify his agenda of controlling all levers of power in Nigeria.
