- Unai Emery will have to reduce Arsenal's salary bill if he plans to rebuild the squad this summer
- The Spaniard will be handed around £40m to spend this summer but could go up if they qualify for the UCL
- Emery is also targeting Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser as a new wide forward
Unai Emery must have to reduce the club’s salary bill in order to rebuild Arsenal squad during the summer.
According to the Mirror, the Spanish manager will be handed about £40m to spend in the coming window, but could increase if they progress to the Champions League next term.
However, the club’s main issue remains how they keep contracts under control, which are may likely see some players heading to the exit doors in some departments to help in reducing their salary bill.
At the last count, Emery is eyeing Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser in the summer, with the Scottish winger in the last year of his contract.
The Spaniard is also looking for a box-to-box midfielder with Aaron Ramsey heading to Juventus on a free transfer this summer.
Furthermore, Emery is eager to add more quality to his defence, but must have to sell players in order to reduce their salary bill .
Arsenal will battle Wolves on Wednesday night, April 24, at Molineux as they strive to reignite their top four quest away from home.
Interestingly, Arsenal missed a massive opportunity to leapfrog Tottenham into third spot on Sunday, but they ended up suffering a 3-2 home defeat by Crystal Palace.
German defence ace Shkodran Mustafi has been heavily criticized after the defeat by the Eagles, but Emery refuses to agree with their submission.
“I want every player to have confidence. You can take confidence from training, playing and, above all, when we win together or put on a big performance.
“Also, we need our supporters to help us. I know we are the actors and the actor needs to be strong. But I want to protect the players.
"Mustafi is a very good player, a very good centre-back. He can win one, he can win two, he can win three, he can win four – but if he lost one, he is the picture and if we concede a goal, he is the big picture,” Emery summed up.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Arsenal will make available just £75 million for Unai Emery to spend on transfers in the summer should the club qualify for next season's Champions League.
Qualification of the continental tournament would have served as a massive boost for Emery's expenditure during the upcoming summer transfer window.
