President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, April 24, arrived Lagos to commission projects by the Akinwumi Ambode-led government.
The full list of the projects he commissioned in the state are:
1. Rehabilitated 10-lane Oshodi/Murtala Muhammed International Airport Road,
2. 170-Bed ‘Ayinke House’ (Maternity Hospital) at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja
3. Lagos State Theatre at Oregun in Ikeja,
4. New 820 Mass Transit buses
5. Multi-level Oshodi Transport Interchange on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
The Lagos state government in a press release obtained by Legit.ng also gave details about the projects that were inaugurated, one of which was 170-bed facility with state-of-the art facility.
The newly reconstructed Institute of Maternal And Child Health popularly known as Ayinke House located within the premises of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja, which was unveiled by President Buhari was described as a critical and timely intervention by the state government in the health sector.
"The Ayinke House, which is Nigeria’s biggest Maternity Hospital, was upgraded from an 80-bed facility to a 170-bed healthcare centre with state-of-the-art medical equipment, as well as information technology services," part of the statement read.
In attendance were governors of Ogun (Ibikunle Amosun), Oyo (Abiola Ajimobi), Ondo (Oluwarotimi Akeredolu), Ekiti (Kayode Fayemi), Jubrila Bindow (Adamawa), acting governor of Edo state, Philip Shaibu; Lagos state governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat; Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, among others.
Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that Buhari arrived the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos for his one-day official visit to the state.

The presidential jet touched down at the airport around 10:30 am at the presidential wing of the airport.
Heavy security are around the airport as senior government officials, governors, among others were sighted. Some of the dignitaries are Governors Akinwunmi Ambode (the host governor), Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state and Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti.
