- Arsene Wenger is tipping Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira to manage Premier League side in the nearest future
- The 42-year-old inspired Arsenal to three EPL titles and three FA Cups during his nine-year stint at Highbury
- Vieira is now managing Ligue 1 side Nice after coaching New York City in MLS
Arsene Wenger believes Patrick Vieira has the required credential to manage Arsenal in the future.
According to UK Sun citing Canal Football Club, the 42-year-old former Gunners captain inspired the Premier League side to three EPL titles, and three FA Cups in his nine-year stint at north London.
At the last count, the Frenchman has turned to coaching since retiring from active football, starting with City's reserves in 2013.
Three years later, he was appointed manager of New York City and coached them for 90 games, but switched to Ligue 1 campaigner Nice in 2018.
Currently, Nice are eighth on the Ligue 1 log and many feel he is heading for greater height in the future, with former Arsenal manager Wenger, who insists his ex-captain is bound to assume managerial role at Arsenal someday.
“I see him as the Arsenal coach one day because I think he is too young to go directly into international football.
“I think his life will go through club football. He has constructed his career intelligently and patiently.
“He left when he was young, he went to New York, he is now in Nice and he has taken time to mature and learn his profession.
“And something you can’t give: he has a natural charisma. He is both elegant and authoritative.
“He has passed through a difficult time at Nice but he showed no signs of weakness.
“It is in times of crisis you see the coach,” Wenger was quoted as saying to Canal Football Club.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Arsenal fans have taken a step further to show their disappointment with Shkodran Mustafi's performance in the Gunners' 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday, April 21.
Two goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil were not enough to rescue Arsenal from an embarrassing defeat as the Eagles marched to a comfortable victory.
Mustafi was at fault for two goals scored by the visitors even as fans took to social media to criticise the German defender.
Some of the fans called for the benching of Mustafi to eternity, while others urged the club to find a potential suitor for the former Everton centre-back in the summer.
