The emir of Anka, Alhaji Attahiru Mohammed Ahmed, has denied that the Zamfara state council of chiefs, which he heads, made a u-turn in its claim that some villagers were killed by Air Force jets.
Emir Ahmed insisted that innocent people were killed by the Air Fore jets in their attacks on bandits' camps.
Lawal Tsalha, Legit.ng’s regional reporter in Zamfara, Lawal Tsalha, says that the traditional ruler made the assertion while briefing news men in the state.
The emir said that he has never told lies and will never do so in his life.
He advised the media to be God-fearing in their reports and stop spreading what was never mentioned.
He also reiterated the allegation made by the council's members that many innocent people have been killed in the Air Force attacks just as he maintained that a district head of one of the affected areas was around during the recent visit of the Air Force investigative team to his palace where some of the incidents were confirmed.
According to the council's chairman, the emirs in Zamfara state were not out to confront either the state or the federal government in their fight against bandits, but are always supportive to the success of the programme.
Legit.ng earlier reported that the chairman of the Zamfara state council of chiefs had apologised to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over its recent allegations that innocent citizens were killed in the state during air strikes by personnel of the Air Force.
The chairman council of chiefs, who is also the emir of Anka, made the apology when a seven-man high powered investigation team led by AVM Idi Lubo visited him at his palace in Anka.
