Buhari reacts as photos show president all smiles while signing N30,000 mimum wage bill

Two photographs released by the presidency in the evening of Thursday, April 18, showed that historic moment President Muhammadu Buhari signed the N30,000 minimum wage bill into law.

The law now makes it mandatory for the federal and state governments to pay N30,000 as minimum wage to workers in the country.

Accompanied with the photographs was a short message by President Buhari confirming that he actually signed the bill passed by both chambers of the National Assembly recently.

Buhari thanked all those who contributed to making the law a reality.

‪”I signed the new national minimum wage bill into law today at the State House, eight years after the last review.

“I would like to express gratitude to everyone who contributed to this very important task, and reiterate our commitment to the welfare of all Nigerians,” the president said.

Legit.ng earlier reported how the 2019 Easter holiday will be a exciting one for Nigerian workers following the passing of the N30,000 new minimum wage.

President Buhari also said that this is to be implemented immediately.

The report added that President Buhari's decisive move invariably means that the signed new minimum wage bill is now a law, which is an upward review of the salaries of all Nigerian civil servants.

Meanwhile, a former governor of Abia and senator-elect for Abia North senatorial district, Orji Uzor Kalu, reacted to report that President Muhammadu Buhari signed the N30,000 minimum wage bill into law.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, who took to Twitter to react to the news, said average workers in Nigeria deserve the best.
