Nasarawa attack: Trouble for attackers as Police IG deploys tactical team

- Police IG Abubakar Muhammed Adamu has deployed special force to tackle banditry in Nasarawa state

- Police spokesperson, Frank Mba, said the special team deployed will provide additional technical support to the existing security operatives

- Mba also vowed that the force will not leave stones unturned in its bid to restore peace in the troubled state

In its effort to put an end to the heinous activities of bandits in Nasarawa, the Nigerian Police Force has deployed a special tactical team to the state to provide additional support to the existing security operatives.

The force made this known in a statement released by its public relations officer, DCP Frank Mba, at the force headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, April 18.

Mba said the decision was expedient to restore peace and order back into the Numa Kochu village of Nasarawa state, which has been thrown into panic following series of attack on Sunday, April 14.

The police PRO also said the acting inspector general of police, Abubakar Muhammed Adamu, had directed the Nasarawa police command to fish out the villains perpetrating the attacks.

He said: "The combined tactical teams comprising the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Explosive Ordinance Department (EOD), IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) and Specialized Investigators from the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) have been mandated to provide support to the existing security architecture in the State to prevent further attacks and carry out discrete investigation into the killings.

“While restating the commitment of the force to uncover and bring the perpetrators of the killing to justice, the IGP implores any member of the Public with useful and credible information that could aid the ongoing investigation not to hesitate to avail same to the Police through the following contacts: 08033097663, 08033674246."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that following the Sunday, April 14 attacks on Numa Kochu village in Nasarawa state, the Nigerian Army had vowed to arrest the perpetrators and make them face the wrath of the law.

Major General Adeyemi Yekini, the commander of the Operation Whirl Stroke covering Benue, Nasarawa and Taraba states, made this known while reacting to the tragic incidents.
