Armed men on motorcycles have reportedly invaded Abaya village along Wurma road in Dutse local government area of Jigawa state.
The bandits, who reportedly invaded the village on Wednesday night, April 17, were said to have shot about 30 persons, Daily Trust reports.
Reports are still not clear over the exact numbers of victims as at the time of writing this report.
Sources in the village, however, said that some of the residents were killed while several others got gunshot injuries.
In an earlier report by Legit.ng, human rights lawyer and a senior advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, blamed politicians for the spate of killings and kidnappings across the country, saying the thugs that were armed by politicians during the 2019 general elections were not disarmed.
He said the federal government has repeatedly proven that it cannot secure the lives and property of Nigerians.
Meanwhile, the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, has stated that the Muhammadu Buhari administration would apply multi dimensional approach besides deployment of forces, in tackling the security situation in the country.

Mohammed during an interview with the Voice of America (VOA), said the government was not unaware of other remote causes of the crises in the affected areas including economic and social reasons, non-inclusiveness, lack of infrastructure and job opportunities.
The minister noted that, by and large, the administration had performed well in addressing insecurity and the country is safer than it was in 2015.
