Amid social media spats Reno Omokri, a former special assistant to the erstwhile Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan, has announced that he has been blocked by ex-education and solid minerals minister, Oby Ezekwesili.
Omokri, a lawyer turned author and pastor, announced the development on his official and verified Twitter handle, @renoomokri, at about 9:15pm Nigerian time on Wednesday, April 17.
Although the former presidential aide described the block as "a honour", Legit.ng notes that the development might be connected to the growing harsh online engagement between the duo in recent times.
Ezekwesili, who served as education minister under the administration of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, shot herself to limelight as a human right advocate and founder of the popular #BringBackourGirl group.
The group, since its establishment has mounted pressure on the government, seeking for the release of the Chibok school girls abducted in 2014 under former president Jonathan-led administration, which Omokri served as presidential aide.
She was the presidential candidate of Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) in the last 2019 general election.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the co-convener of Bring Back Our Girl campaign, Oby Ezekwesili, had criticised the federal government over its failure to secure the release of the remaining Chibok school girls, abducted by Boko Haram insurgents exactly five years ago.
Ezekwesili, in a tweet on Saturday, April 13, said it is a shame that not a word has been uttered by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government on the status of their rescue.
