Nigerians on social media have reacted to the comment by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Yomi Shogunle, which said "Nigerians should avoid speaking Queens English to officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to avoid kasala".
The reactions were from total surprise to disgust as most could not place why an ACP would say such.
A twitter user with the name August Bone could not believe that police chief could say such as he screamed "Jesu!"
Another was confused as to how speaking the country's official language could be criminal.
Another Nigerian is asking if Queens English is not the reason people go school.
Another user on twitter, as a response to Shogunle's comment, said that it is very senseless to be backward in one's thinking.
Others were just in utter disbelief and wondered how speaking a language that should be an official mode of communication could warrant death.
Is Shogunle trying to say SAR operatives are illiterates.
