At the last count, Bayern are back at the top of Bundesliga after Liverpool sent them packing from the Champions League, but the Bavarian giants are set to offer the 49-year-old Conte, who has won the Serie A title three times.

If Conte seals the switch to Roma, he will earn about £2.5m more in wages and emerge Serie A top earner after toppling Juventus Massimiliano Allegri as the highest-paid manager in the Italian topflight.

The 49-year-old spent was fired by the club just after two seasons in charge of the Premier League outfit.

Conte won one EPL and FA Cup titles during his two year reign at the Stamford Bridge before being shown the exit door. ( -> We have updated to serve you better
