Cristiano Ronaldo for the first time since the 2009-10 season will not feature in the Champions League semi finals following shocking defeat to Ajax.
The last time Ronaldo failed to progress into the semi finals was in the 2009-10 season when Real Madrid was shocked by Ligue 1 side Lyon in the round of 16.
But the Portuguese streak of eight consecutive semi finals and three successive trophies came to an end after the young Ajax squad recorded an emphatic 2-1 win at the Allianz Stadium.

Despite putting Juve in the lead in the 28th minute, his 126th Champions League goal and 65th in the knockout stages, the Old Lady fell by 2-1.
And according to OptaJoe, 2018-19 season will be the first time Ronaldo's team will not be in a semi final stage since 2009-10 campaign.

However, the fairy tale story continues for Ajax as they are regarded as the giant-killers in this season's competition qualifying out of the same group with Bayern Munich and knocking Real Madrid and Juventus out of the competition.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Ajax shocked Juventus 2-1 to progress into the semi finals of the Champions League.
