- Philippe Coutinho has emerged as a summer transfer target for Chelsea
- But the Blues will hope they get favorable appeal judgement on their transfer ban
- Chelsea have been banned for two seasons not to sign any new player
Premier League giants Chelsea are reportedly considering a deal to sign Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho despite their current two-window transfer ban.
The future of Belgian football star Eden Hazard is in doubt as he has been linked with a summer move to Spanish side Real Madrid.
According to the latest report by Spanish newspaper Sport, Philippe Coutinho is said to be the main target for Chelsea should Eden Hazard decides to leave Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are currently awaiting the outcome of their appeal to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, after which they could still make their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
And should the final judgement turn against them, then it means that Chelsea won't be able to sign or register any new player for the next two transfer windows.
If that happens, it will block their chances of signing top football stars like Philippe Coutinho at the end of the current campaign in the EPL.
Chelsea are currently occupying fifth position on the Premier League standings with 66 points after 34 games played this season.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Liverpool vs Chelsea ended 2-0 in favor of Jurgen Klopp's men as they stay two-points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
The first real chance of the match fell to Mohamed Salah when he took a first-time volley from an Sadio Mane's cross which Kepa Arrizabalaga went to ground to catch easily as Mane and Salah scored.
