Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has defended his teammate at Arsenal Mesut Ozil claiming that the German football star is a team player that must be appreciated.
Mesut Ozil has been heavily criticized this season by Arsenal fans and pundits because of his performances this term for the Gunners in all competitions.
Alex Iwobi has now explained that the former Real Madrid star is appreciated at the Emirates stadium by his teammates.
“Fans sometimes don’t appreciate what he gives to the team.
“I don’t know the stats but with Mesut in the team you are always going to get at least three chances a game from him.
"He always provides an excellent pass or something, a good move or play that leads to a goal, or almost leads to a goal,'' Iwobi explained according to Sun UK.
Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil has played 20 Premier League games this season for Arsenal scoring four goals and creating two assists.
Arsenal are currently occupying sixth position on the Premier League standings with 63 points after 32 games played this term.
