Israel Adesanya became UFC's interim middle weight champion following a unanimous point victory over United States fighter Kelvin Gastelum.
The New Zealand based Nigerian fighter stretched the American to the limit as the match was regarded as one of the top five bouts in UFC's history.
Adesanya who defeated UFC legend Anderson Silva in his last fight before getting a title shot, knocked down Gastelum a couple of times in the fight.
All judges scorecard awarded the fight in favour of the 29-year-old as he was crowned the new interim middle weight champion.

The unbeaten Adesanya has now taken his record to 6-0 and he is looking up to a fight with one of UFC's greatest light weight champion, Jon Jones.
Another Nigerian UFC welter weight champion Kamaru Usman was among the spectators the saw the fight was proud of his fellow Nigerian mixed martial artist.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Nigerian-American mixed martial artist Kamaru Usman has recorded his name in the history books of wrestling by becoming the first African champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The 31-year-old achieved this success in Las Vegas when he defeated defending champion Tyron Woodley for five rounds to become the new champion.
