Bauchi state election tribunal receives 27 petitions

- Dalhatu Abubakar Abdullahi of the APC has challenged the victory of Yakubu Dogara, speaker of House of Representatives at the tribunal

- The tribunal also received petition from Gara’u Adamu of PDP challenging the electoral victory of Kawuwa Shehu Damina of APC

The election that returned Yakubu Dogara, speaker of House of Representatives, as senator-elect representing Dass/Tafawa Balewa/Bogoro federal constituency, has been challenged at the election petitions tribunal in Bauchi state by Dalhatu Abubakar Abdullahi of the All Progressives Congree (APC).

Also, the tribunal received petition from Gara’u Adamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging the electoral victory of the speaker of Bauchi state House of Assembly, Kawuwa Shehu Damina, who is representing Darazo Central constituency in the House of Assembly on the platform of the APC.

According to the secretary of the tribunal, ‎Bello Abdullahi, 27 petitions had been received as of Monday, April 9. Going further, he added that the petitioners were challenging the winners of the Senate, House of Representatives and state House of Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, he disclosed that no petition has been received regarding the governorship election in the state.

The governorship election in the state was won by Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of the PDP.

According to Daily Trust, another petition the tribunal received was that of the Bauchi North senatorial seat where Mustapha of NNPP is challenging the election of Adamu Mohammed Bulkachuwa of the APC.

Similarly, Ahmed Yerima of the PDP is also challenging the election of Ibrahim Makama Misau of the APC for Misau/Dambam federal constituency.

The election of Halliru Dauda Jika of the APC as senator-elect representing Bauchi central senatorial district is also being challenged by Bappa Aliyu Misau of PRP.
