Bello the best option - Kogi speaker hails governor ahead of guber poll

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has been described as the best option for the people of the state by the speaker of Kogi House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole.

Addressing some youths who paid a courtesy visit to his office at the Assembly complex, Kolawole hailed the Kogi governor as a selfless and detribalised leader, Daily Trust reports.

Legit.ng gathers that Kolawole's encomium on Bello threw the kite up for campaign as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) slated November 2 for the governorship election in the state.

Kolawole, who reeled out the achievement of the "young and dynamic" governor, said the state has been able to tackle its problem through the proactiveness of the governor.

On the fast beckoning governorship election in the state, the lawmaker expressed confidence in All Progressive Congress (APC) cruising to a comfortable victory.

He said: "There is no gainsaying the monumental achievements of the new administration led by the young and dynamic governor who has ruthlessly dislodged criminals and criminality in the state."

The Kogi speaker also disclosed that the state has recorded achievements in the sector of infrastructure, security and economy. He added that youth are now more empowered, considering the fact the the governor is a youth with a wide vision set for the promotion of youth agenda.

Meanwhile, the acting inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu, had approved the deployment of a squad of 'Operation Puff Adder' to Kogi, in response to the wave of violent crimes in the state.

Legit.ng reported that he state commissioner of police, Hakeem Busari, inaugurated the squad comprising 340 men and officers selected from Mobile Police Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, and IGP Special Tactical Squad.
