Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state has congratulated his Akwa Ibom state counterpart, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, on his electoral victory.
Governor Fayemi's congratulatory message was sent via a letter to the Akwa Ibom state governor dated Sunday, March 14.
The Ekiti governor hailed Governor Emmanuel, saying his victory is “an affirmation and reward for your previous performance by your people.”
He continued: “You were favoured and re-elected because your people found you so worthy and deserving. Your people renewed the confidence in you and further entrust you with the management of their commonwealth. I am confident that you will justify this with renewed vigor and more development across the state.
“I have no doubt in my mind that you performed well and impressed your people with your first term mandate; this must have informed their decision to support your second tern bid. Please keep up the good work and do more to continuously and positively affect the people.
“I look forward to your cooperation in our renewed quest to move our states forward and further enshrine good governance in Nigeria, collectively. May God strengthen us to leave our states, and Nigeria, better than we met her.”
Meanwhile, Governor Emmanuel has said his government wrestled with principalities and powers in high places during the just concluded governorship election in the state.
Governor Emmanuel made the remark at the Victory Thanksgiving Service with the theme: The Danger of Ingratitude, organised by the Akwa Ibom state government at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, March 29.
He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s victory in the state represents a new dawn for Akwa Ibom, even as he thanked the party's leaders, members and supporters for their contribution to the PDP's victory.
