N-Power volunteer provides learning items for students in Benue state, hails Buhari (photos)

- A volunteer of N-power in Benue state, Dorough Terkura, has donated learning materials to indigent children in his community

- Terkura said he has taken it upon himself to give little children branded exercise books free-of-charge at the beginning of each term

- The N-Power volunteer noted that the books were branded with his picture and President Buhari to show appreciation to the president

An N-Power volunteer in Benue state, Dorough Terkura, has impacted lives of indigent school children in his community by providing them with learning materials.

In a Facebook message sent to Legit.ng, Terkura said the gesture was to put smile on the faces of the indigent children in his community, adding that he took it upon himself to supply to the poor students branded exercise books free-of-charge at the beginning of each term.

He said: "As an N-power volunteer, after impacting knowledge into the little children in my community, I felt it wasn't enough considering the level of poverty in my community. I took it upon me as an obligation to supply to the poor students branded exercise books free-of-charge at the beginning of each term.

"The books are branded with my picture and that of President Buhari, this is to show appreciation to Mr. President for empowering me through N-power programme.

"My desire is to extend this gesture beyond my immediate community, I'm looking at a situation where students in public schools across Nigeria can feel the impact of this initiative, but paucity of resources at my disposal is hindering the speedy spread of this initiative," he said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo promised that the federal government would expand the current N-Power programme.
