Nigerian lady celebrates 10 years of surviving ovarian cyst that left her immobile

A Nigerian woman has narrated how she discovered that she had ovarian cyst ten years ago and survived it. The woman identified as Adetutu Balogun revealed that the illness immobilized her.

Balogun who is based in the United Kingdom shared her survival story on Twitter. Balogun explained that she had woken up in her bed on day immobilized and unable to talk.

She narrated how her son had found her and realised that she could not reply him even though her eyes were opened. He called his father and she was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered that she had ovarian cyst.

According to her, the doctor had told her that there is a possibility that the cyst found has developed into ovarian cancer.

The woman revealed that she was shocked and scared of what would happen to her. She noted that a lot of thoughts went through her mind.

She was told that the condition is common in women who have been through menopause even though she had just started peri-menopause.

In her tweets, she talked about how she spent weeks on a sick bed in the hospital. She explained that she became closer to God, letting him guide her through the weeks in bed.

The woman also talked about how she fought a battle in her dream days after she was admitted. She stated that she had woken to a swollen jaw that doctor spent two day pressing pus out of her jaw.

According to her, in the last ten years, she had twenty colposcopy tests, and after the years of monitoring and tests, she was declared free of harm.
