Cristiano Ronaldo is set to play a role for Juventus in Wednesday’s Champions League cracker against Ajax after recovering from a thigh injury while in action for Portugal.

According to the Daily Mail, Ronaldo was among Juventus stars landed in Amsterdam Tuesday, April 9, ahead of the Champions League quarter-final showdown, at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

Initially, they were fears the five-time Ballon D'or winner will not recover in time, but after regaining his fitness’, his inclusion has come as a huge boost to other squad members ahead of the first-leg tie.

Ronaldo was spotted alongside teammates posing for the camera onboard the plane heading for the Dutch capital from Turin.

Interestingly, the 34-year-old was involved in all training regime in their final session before jetting off on Tuesday.

Juventus defeated Atletico Madrid via a Ronaldo hat-trick in the last-16 round to progress to the quarter-final stage.

On the other hand, Ajax surprisingly hammered defending champions Real Madrid 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu to battle Juventus.

The eventual winners of this quarter-final clash will tackle Tottenham or Man City in the semi-final fir s final spot.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo has has handed Juventus a boost after returning to training few days before their Champions League quarter-final clash against Ajax.

The 34-year-old has not featured for the Old Lady in their last two matches owing to the injury he picked up during last month's FIFA international break.

His absence was however not felt as Italian youngster Moise Kean inspired Massimiliano Allegri's side to back to back wins over Cagliari and Milan respectively.
