The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has asked the public to disregard any information saying it is conducting staff recruitment.
The immigration service denied the recruitment claim on its twitter page on Tuesday, April 9, adding that such information is the handiwork of fraudsters and the public should therefore not fall for it.

According to NIS, it is not conducting any staff recruitment at the moment. "Members of the public are therefore, advised to disregard any such advertisements as they are the handiwork of fraudsters seeking to deceive and defraud unsuspecting members of the public," it added.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the comptroller general of the NIS, Mohammed Babandede, said porous borders on the nation’s territory still remain a major challenge bedeviling the success of the agency.

Babandede expressed sadness over the NIS inability to render maximum control of the nation’s 140 recognised land borders. He said in order to efficiently manage the borders against in-road of unwanted elements, the NIS requires basic technology.
However, he commended the federal government for the construction of the Immigration Technology Centre which he said would afford the NIS technological strength to maximise surveillance across the land borders, when completed.
