“I want to reiterate my earlier promise that I will adopt the entire state as my constituency.
“I am also committed to upholding fairness, equity and justice in handling the affairs of the state,” Ihedioha promised.
Vanguard reports that Ihedioha commended the diocesan bishop, Rt Rev Chamberlain Ogunedo, the priests and laity for organizing the thanksgiving service.
“As a soldier of Christ, I shall remain a good ambassador of the Anglican communion,” he said while describing his victory as “a victory for democracy in Imo state.”
“It was reassuring that the people of Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe collectively voted massively for me,” the governor-elect said as he promised not to disappoint the people of the state.
He also promised to uphold the principles of fairness, equity and justice for all in the state.
The report added that Ihedioha has set up his inauguration planning committee ahead of his official swearing-in ceremony.
Chibuike Onyeukwu, the media aide to the governor-elect said this in a statement in Owerri, the capital of the state.
The committee has Chris Okewulonu as the chairman; Jones Onyereri as its deputy chairman and Ray Emeana as the sectary.
“Governor-elect of Imo state, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, CON, has constituted the 2019 governorship Inauguration Committee with Barr Chris Okewulonu as chairman, to be assisted by Hon. Jones Onyereri as deputy chairman.
“The committee which is divided into 12 sub committees also has Hon Ray Emeana as secretary. Each of the subcommittees has a chairman, deputy chairman and a secretary,” the report said.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Emeka Ihedioha directed civil servants in Imo state, especially those serving at the state’s ministry of lands, to stop the issuance of Certificate of Occupancy (CofO) and other land titles forthwith.
The development was made public in a statement issued by the governor-elect’s media aide, Chibuike Onyeukwu
