- Ivan Rakitic could be on his way out of Barcelona at the end of this season
- The 31-year-old has been on the radar of Manchester United
- Rakitic joined the Bluagrana in 2015 and has been impressive for them since the departure of Xavi
Ivan Rakitic prefers a switch to Serie A champions Juventus over Manchester United when he finally quits Barcelona at the end of the campaign.
According to The Mirror, the 31-year-old Croatian, who has been struggling to pen an extension at Barca has been repeatedly linked with a move to Old Trafford.
At the last count, Rakitic is eager to remain at Nou Camp, but Barcelona are now considering offloading him.
On the other hand, Man United are keeping vigil on the midfielder, but reports now claim Rakitic would be heading to Turin at the end of the campaign.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Croatian has been in talks with Juventus and has given his blessings to the switch.
Already, Barca are planning to land Frenkie de Jong from Ajax next season, a move that will force Rakitic down the pecking order.
PSG tried sealing a switch for Rakitic last summer, but despite snubbing the move, he has not penned an extension at Barca
Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu did not say much to confirm the player’s future lies at the Nou Camp next campaign.
"We want our players to be happy and Rakitic is one of the most important players at Barcelona," he said.
"The manager has a lot of faith in him.
"However we must ensure that we retain the right balance of wages and we will see at the end of the season what happens with him."
Interestingly, reports claim Barca are set to offload 11 players in the summer, with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti, Thomas Vermaelen and Malcom listed.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Barcelona have reportedly concluded plans to sell Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic once Frankie De Jong arrives this summer.
The 31-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to join Manchester United, but Mundo Deportivo claims the attacker has been a target for Inter Milan.
SunSport reports that the Catalans spent £70 million to acquire the services of the Ajax youngster in January, but will join his new teammate at the end of this season.
