The outgoing executive governor of Oyo state, who disclosed this on Sunday, April 7, while meeting with lawmakers-elect in Ibadan, appealed to them to follow the decision of the APC leadership in determining the presiding officers of the incoming 9th Assembly, Daily Trust reports.
“You should tow the party line by following the decision reached by the APC leadership in determining the leaders of the 9th Assembly.
“Hence, you should support the aspirations of Femi Gbajabiamila as the next speaker of the Federal House of Representatives," Ajimobi tells the lawmakers.
Meanwhile, Akeem Adeyemi (APC, Oyo), who responded on behalf of his colleagues said his team was solidly behind the fourth-term Lagos lawmaker.

Recall that Legit.ng had reported that a group of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders on Tuesday, April 2, staged a protest at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, demanding zoning of the House of Representatives speaker to the north central zone of the country.
The group, under the auspices of north central APC ambassadors, in a letter dated April 2, which was addressed to the national chairman of the party, insisted that the zone should be given the opportunity to produce the speaker of the House of Representatives as a reward for the 2.4 million votes it gave President Muhammadu Buhari during last presidential poll.
