Manchester United have contacted representatives of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, reports in France claim.
It is understood that since Ander Herrera has reportedly agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, United are weighing their options on the Lyon midfielder.
According to France based news media outlet L'Equipe, Old Trafford chiefs have been in touch with Ndombele's representatives.
The France international is valued at £69million and Lyon President Michel Aulas is understood to be open to offers for his playmaker.
Ligue 1 champions PSG, have also targeted the Frenchman as United will go into a tug of war to secure the 22-year-old's signature.
Also, Premier League giants Manchester City, Arsenal and Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid have all been linked with Ndombele.

The Red Devils look set for a summer overhaul as new permanent boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to raise funds for next season.
Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez could both be shown the door next season - allowing space for a big signing such as Ndombele to come in.
