Ex-convict who just completed a 6 month jail term gets arrested again for the same offence

- It was gathered that he just completed a six months jail term in Ogun state

A 47-year-old man has been arrested for pretending to be a fake legal practitioner. The man identified as Balogun Ayodele was arrested in court while standing in as a lawyer for a defendant.

The man had reportedly been arrested at a magistrate court in Ilaro, Ogun state. It was gathered that Ayodele had previously been arrested for the same offence.

According to reports, Ayodele was court while standing in as a defense counsel for a defendant standing trial. He was caught by the magistrate who asked him several legal questions he was unable to answer.

The magistrate had suspected him due to his appearance and presentation to the court. The magistrate then called in the police to arrest and investigate the fake lawyer.

During interrogation, a prison warden had identified him as an ex-convict who recently completed a six month jail term for the same offence.

The police public relations officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, also revealed that Ayodele confessed that he is not a legal practitioner. It was also revealed that the culprit has been going to court pretending to be a lawyer.

Opeyemi also warned that crime would not be tolerated in the state. The spokesperson said: "The CP has warned that the State would not be conducive for anybody who choose crime as a way of life”
