Police confirms arrest of 2 suspects linked to death of LUTH doctor

- Two suspects said to be linked to the death of Stephen Urueye, a fresh medical doctor of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) have been arrested

- The arrest was made known on Friday, April 5, by DSP Bala Elkana

- Elkana further said that the arrest was done after the deceased was killed

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Friday, April 5, confirmed that it arrested two armed robbers suspected to have killed Stephen Urueye, a fresh medical doctor of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

Speaking to newsmen, DSP Bala Elkana said: “We have two suspects arrested and we are questioning them.”

He revealed that the arrest was done after the deceased was murdered, Guardian reports.

Following Urueye's death, some students of the University of Lagos went on a protest at Idi-Araba area of Lagos.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Urueye lost his life after he was reportedly robbed and stabbed just a day after graduating from the University of Lagos.

Sharing the sad news of the death of the young man who was identified as Dr Stephen Urueye on social media, a Facebook user who goes by the name Adeyeye Olorunfemi, made it known that the incident took place in front of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in the Idi-Araba area of Lagos.

According to him, the young man was attacked by robbers and sustained multiple stab wounds which eventually led to his death.
