In what could be described as a sad and unfortunate event, a Nigerian trained medical doctor has lost his life after he was reportedly robbed and stabbed just a day after graduating from the University of Lagos.
Sharing the sad news of the death of the young man who was identified as Dr Stephen Urueye on social media, a Facebook user who goes by the name Adeyeye Olorunfemi, made it known that the incident took place in front of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in the Idi-Araba area of Lagos.
According to him, the young man was attacked by robbers and sustained multiple stab wounds which eventually led to his death.
Olorunfemi, while lamenting the death, revealed that it was not the first time robbery incidents like that would occur in the area. He said students of the College of Medicine Idi-Araba campus, have always complained about incessant robbery attacks but the management has not done anything to address the situation. Another internet user identified as Dr Kel Okoro also lamented the death of the young doctor who she described as her colleague, in a post shared on Twitter.

She noted that preventive measures have to be taken in other to guarantee workplace security and ensure that young and promising lives are not lost due to violence.
