Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s daughter blasts those comparing Davido, Wizkid’s successes to her father’s

Motunrayo Anikulapo Kuti, one of the daughters of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti has fired at those who compare her late dad to Wizkid and Davido.

The entertainment enthusiast and music promoter recently shared a photo of her dad on the cover of Vogue magazine in 1961, proving that the legendary Fela was already making waves a year after Nigeria gained its independence.

It can be argued that Davido, Wizkid and many other Nigerian artistes are gradually making their way to the global scene and as far as influence is concerned, can be said to be the modern-day Fela of Nigeria. However, the position of the afro-beat pioneer remains unshaken.

Motunrayo, however, got pissed because people compared her dad's successes to that of Wizkid and Davido. To buttress her point she showed off a young Fela looking hot while blowing a saxophone on the 1961 cover of the legendary Vogue magazine. She then went on to fire at those who might have been comparing wrongly.
